Easy Beef Barbacoa Recipe
Here at Keto Carnage, we’re all about ease and simplicity. That’s why we love this easy barbacoa recipe. We used leftover shredded chuck steak to make this delicious barbacoa meat.
What is barbacoa made of?
Barbacoa is typically made from a fatty chunk of meat like chuck steak. You can make the barbacoa meat by roasting it, slow cooking it, or pressure cooking it.
We prefer the later two ways because they are almost completely hands off. Plus you can leave them unattended if you wanna stop by the gym or run some errands.
How to make barbacoa?
We’ve simplified this barbacoa beef recipe by using leftover cooked shredded beef. If cooking the beef in a slow cooker, we prefer to season it with salt and pepper, and then add 1/2 cup of beef bone broth. Then you can cook on high for 4 hours or the low setting for 6 to 8 hours. If you’re making barbacoa meat in a pressure cooker, first add 1 cup beef bone broth. Then season the chuck roast with salt and pepper. Place the lid on the pressure cooker. Make sure to set the job to sealed. Choose manual setting. High pressure and set time to 60 minutes. Let pressure release naturally. If you do a quick pressure release, we’ve noticed that the meat tends to not be as tender. You can also try this pressure cooker barbacao beef recipe.
Once you have your cooked beef, shred it with two forks or with a hand mixer. Next, top the beef with the cheese, onion, and cilantro. Serve with the lime wedges to squeeze on top.
Other ways to eat beef barbacao meat
Now we know not everyone just wants to eat meat out of a bowl. For those of you who want a little more to go along with your barbacoa meat, we recommend low carb tortillas.
